Esveillicus
Esveillicus is a language adapted from English to escape the smartphone speech recognition.
Smartphones have become our daily life essentials, and it is effortless to turn it into a portable surveillance hardware. To escape from phone eavesdropping on conversations, Esveillicus is designed to trick the speech recognition system.
The illogical English pronunciation system provides opportunity to modify the language, unify the pronunciation of vowels to the same pronunciation, turning Esveillicus into a similar language that most can understand but algorithms failed to recognise.

This project is divided into 2 parts.
Act 1. Language Learning Video
A video is made to introduce Esveillicus and taught several basic, useful sentences to language beginner. The video is not promoted, but accessible to public so algorithms would not notice them.
Act 2. AR Stickers
An interactive AR sticker which mimics CCTV warning signs is made to promote the language. The temporary, replaceable street stickers provides highly accessibility to public. By scanning the QR code, it brings up a 3D model for learning and listening to the language. All these are done to prevent companies analysing Esveillicus.
